Charitable Giving Up Again
The
IRS is creating a new Communications and Liaison Division with four offices:
communications, legislative affairs, national public liaison, and governmental
liaison and disclosure. The new division is designed to work with public,
private, and governmental groups, building and maintaining effective partnerships
to offer education, provide services, and meet public needs.
The National Public Liaison Office will provide a conduit
between the IRS and tax professionals and business and trade associations.
The Governmental Liaison and Disclosure Office, which will have personnel
in all 50 states, will explore ways to streamline federal and state tax
administration by partnering with state tax authorities.
