  Did You Know?
A Fall Birth Means a Long Life

A recent study by researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research discovered that people born in the Fall months (October through December in the northern hemisphere) tend to live longer than those born in the months of Spring (April through June).

In the southern hemisphere, where the Fall and Spring months are reversed, the same phenomenon occurred. Those born in the Fall months had longer life spans. Those born in the Spring months were also more likely to contract chronic or infectious diseases.

The scientists hypothesized that diet may be the reason. These statistics were taken from populations over the age of 50. When these people were born, women tended to eat better during the Summer than they did during the Winter, so babies born during the Fall had received better nutrition before birth.
