Dietary Sodium Bad!

The lower the amount of sodium in the diet, the lower the blood pressure, for both those with and without hypertension, according to a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) clinical study. The positive effects of reduced dietary sodium were evident regardless of lifestyle and diet differences, but the greatest benefit occurred with the lowest intake of sodium for subjects who ate diets low in saturated fat, total fat, and cholesterol.
