Nifty Gadgets for Elderly

AARP has posted a special section to their web site listing a collection of tools to help elderly individuals live independently, such as:

  • Hi-tech pill boxes with alarms to signal when to take medicine,
  • Faucets that automatically turn off,
  • Voice-activated phone dialers,
  • Clothing with Velcro fasteners,
  • Vibrating alarm clocks to place under your pillow at night,
  • Talking watches, clocks, timers, calculators, scales, heart and blood pressure monitors, etc., and
  • All sorts of other neat gadgets to help you see, hear, remember, and get around.
