AoA Announces Federal Funds for Caregivers
In December 2000, Congress approved a $125 million request to fund the new National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP), a key component of the newly reauthorized Older Americans Act signed into law on November 13, 2000. This program will provide critical support needed by families to assist them in maintaining their caregiver roles. Funds will be awarded to State Agencies on Aging who will
work in partnership with area agencies on aging to implement the formula
grant provisions of the new program.
