How's Your County's Health?

Officials and residents in all 3,082 US counties can now access a Web-based snapshot of their county’s health status. Causes of death, infectious diseases, teen pregnancies, and a host of other indicators from existing national data sets can be found at www.communityhealth.hrsa.gov.

Each county’s report has demographic information with some 20 to 50 "peer" counties with similar population size, density, age distribution, and poverty levels. For some indicators, estimates are derived from national data sources and adjusted to reflect demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of individual counties and should be interpreted with caution.
