Easy Tips to Help You Sleep

Many people, especially seniors, can only dream of getting a good night's sleep. Though the process of sleep still remains a mystery, one thing is certain: sleep is important. Bottom Line/Health makes the following suggestions for anyone who has trouble getting to sleep.

    • Avoid caffeine, especially during the late afternoon and evening.
    • Avoid alcoholic beverages for at least four hours before bedtime.
    • Make sure your bedroom is totally quiet and completely dark.
    • Avoid mental stimulation for at least an hour before bedtime.
    • Have a light snack (low in sugar) before bed if you are hungry or may get hungry soon.
