Many
people, especially seniors, can only dream of getting a good night's sleep.
Though the process of sleep still remains a mystery, one thing is certain:

for anyone who has trouble getting to sleep.

Avoid caffeine, especially during the late afternoon and
evening.

Avoid alcoholic beverages for at least four hours before
bedtime.

Make sure your bedroom is totally quiet and completely dark.

Avoid mental stimulation for at least an hour before bedtime.

Have a light snack (low in sugar) before bed if you are hungry
or may get hungry soon.
