Jan Collins began coauthoring
Flying Solo® in 1989 and NextSteps™ in 1998. She has more than 27 years of experience as
a journalist, writer, and editor. She has worked as a
reporter for newspapers in Michigan, North Carolina,
and South Carolina, and since 1983 has edited Business
& Economic Review, a quarterly business
magazine published by the University of South Carolina
College of Business Administration.
She is also a special correspondent
for The (London) Economist. Ms. Collins, who has published hundreds of
articles and contributed chapters to three books, has won
numerous awards for her writing and editing.
She was granted a Nieman Fellowship
at Harvard University and a Congressional Fellowship in
Washington, D.C. Ms. Collins is a member of the American
Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA).
Jan Collins holds a bachelor's degree
from Georgetown University and a Master's degree from the
University of Michigan.
